PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The AWARE Family Advocate is responsible for working with families to help them realize their self-sufficiency goals. The employee engages families in their child/ren(s) learning activities and serves as the link between families and community resources.
Requires at least two (2) years of employment experience working with children aged 0 – 5 and families in an educational setting with a demonstrated knowledge of program planning, early childhood assessment and family systems. Also requires good oral and written communication skills and an ability to form professional relationships with a diverse group of people.
Requires computer literacy skills, including the ability to navigate, record, and overall basic computer skills needed for performance-based software as well as an electronic medical records system.
The Family Advocate must have the interpersonal oral and written communications skills to work as a team member, to make observations and to report them accurately, to learn service methods, and to follow oral and written instructions.
Requires a BS/BA Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field, in addition to direct employment related experience.
