AWARE’s Preschool Teacher, under the supervision and direction of AWARE’s Center for Early Childhood Director and Child Development Specialist, will assist in the implementation of a newly developed, soon to open, all day; 3-5 year old Pre-school. Knowledgeable in curriculum development and implementation and providing an environment where children can develop age-appropriate social, self-help, and school readiness skills. Function as the Primary Teacher in a Preschool setting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires at least two (2) years of employment experience working with children aged 0 – 5 and families in an educational setting. Knowledge of program planning, early childhood assessment and family systems, good oral and written communication skills and an ability to form professional relationships with a diverse group of people.
Requires computer literacy skills, including the ability to navigate, record, and overall basic computer skills needed for performance-based software as well as an electronic medical records system.
The Head Start Teacher must have the ability to work as a team member, make observations and accurately report, learn service methods, and follow oral and written instructions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or Equivalency and/or AA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education. Position must be filled with a person who has, is willing to be or is in the process of obtaining CDA/AA. A Montana Driver’s License and clean driving record are essential
