PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direct services in a school setting (elementary, middle, or high school) to emotionally disturbed youth. May assist youth in developing coping skills, social/recreational skills, independent living skills, mediation and conflict resolution skills, problem solving skills. Communicates behavioral and emotional observations to treatment team. Documents relevant data. Participates in program planning. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Requires the ability to assess and respond to the needs of youth and an understanding of community resources and how to access services. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services plus two (2) years or experience working with youth who are emotionally challenged and who experience learning differences and families.
The successful applicant may be eligible to apply for a Tier II pay rate of $14.75/hour after six months of employment and in addition to supplying qualifying materials.
