Benefits
AWARE recognizes that benefits are an important part of a total compensation package and give employees the opportunity to make selections that best meet their needs.
Eligibility
Permanent employees who work at least 30 hours per week are eligible for coverage after successful completion of the probation period that includes: 401 K retirement, holiday, and paid leave. Eligible employees and dependent children also qualify for health insurance, health savings account, supplemental life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment after a 60-day period.
Relief staff are not eligible for the above listed employee benefits, except for the 401K Plan, which is available after the six-month probation.
Pretax Advantage
An added advantage of pretax is that premium payments you contribute for your benefits are automatically paid on a pretax basis. When you pay for your benefits with pretax dollars, you are actually reducing your taxable income.

Health Insurance Plan Options
When you are eligible, you can enroll yourself and eligible dependents in a health insurance plan, with a term life insurance policy, that comes with a health savings account option. AWARE pays a portion of premium costs for any health plan chosen.
Supplemental Life Insurance and AD&D Insurance
Health Insurance enrollment includes Life Insurance and Accidental Death or Dismemberment disability benefits. An employee must carry dependent health insurance coverage in order for his or her dependents to be eligible for the life insurance benefit.
Health Savings Account
A Health Savings Account is an account that is owned by the individual and created from pre-tax contributions that can be used tax free as long as the distributions are used for qualified medical expenses.
401 K Retirement
AWARE is committed to helping you succeed not only at work, but in retirement with a 401K Retirement Plan. Pre-tax contributions are automatically taken from salary which gives your plan the potential to generate earnings, tax-deferred. AWARE may also offer “matching” contributions to your Plan account.
Training
AWARE has developed an extensive training program in order to assure the safety and well-being of its clients and employees, in addition to assuring quality care. All required training and testing will be completed at the employer’s expense.
Paid Time Off
The Paid Time Off is designed primarily for your rest and relaxation. This program allows you to manage your own time away from work, whether it is used for sick, personal, holiday, or vacation time. Paid Time off is available after completing six months of service and accrues according to length of employment and/or work hours granted.
Holidays
Employees are provided with eight premium paid holidays each calendar year.
Direct Deposit
AWARE offers all employees the convenience of direct deposit. Employees are encouraged to have their semi-monthly paycheck direct deposited to the bank of their choice. Direct deposit is a safe, hassle free way to get checks deposited and avoid standing in line at the bank!
