Our organization is led by a diverse and talented group of professionals. They provide our governance, and they graciously volunteer their time, knowledge, skills, and expertise each month. They keep us focused on our mission – helping people live independent lives – and each one of them has excelled in their respective fields. Simply put, they are considered the best of the best in Montana (and beyond).
Basically, our board members inspire us to be better, to achieve greater things, and hopefully, they’ll inspire you too. This month’s story is part of a series that features our board members and the reasons they choose to support our cause.
This month, we feature Jennifer Kautz who has served on AWARE’s board since June of 2020. Jennifer resides in Billings, Montana, and comes to AWARE with many years of experience in the accounting industry.
Jennifer has a Master’s degree from Seattle University and has worked as an auditor for Ernst & Young, an accountant for Underriner Motors, and is currently the CFO for the Billings Family YMCA. She also fills in as a professor at MSU-B teaching Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Auditing, and Governmental and Not for Profit Accounting.
An original Montanan, Jennifer spent a few years working in Washington after completing college but couldn’t wait to get back to her hometown of Billings where she’s heavily involved. She recently served as the President of Junior League, an organization committed to improving the community by training women to be effective civic leaders, but just recently completed her five-year term. While looking for other opportunities to serve, it wasn’t long before she found AWARE. Needless to say, she’s excited to lend a hand and learn more about what it means to help people live independent lives.
Jennifer, thank you for your complete desire to serve others. Your commitment pushes us to continuously strive for excellence. With your heartfelt and passionate leadership, we can accomplish the impossible as we push toward a future of independence. Thank you for helping us become the organization we are today!
