Understanding Brain Injury in Montana: Liberty Place, Inc. A Lifelong Resource

hlee439

Both traumatic (TBI) and acquired (ABI) brain injuries significantly impact individuals and communities across Montana. Many survivors face long-term challenges requiring specialized support, and Liberty Place, Inc. (LP)  provides lifelong residential care for them. LP is dedicated to helping survivors maintain their independence, develop essential life skills, and work towards community integration. With a person-centered approach, LP creates an environment that prioritizes dignity, self-sufficiency, and quality of life.

Montana Brain Injury Impact

Each year, thousands of Montanans experience a brain injury, often caused by falls, motor vehicle crashes, and other accidents. Limited rural healthcare access makes it difficult for survivors to receive specialized care, leaving many without essential support. Additionally, many individuals with brain injuries experience co-occurring mental health challenges, such as depression and anxiety, increasing the need for comprehensive care.

Liberty Place, Inc.: A Dedicated Long-Term Resource

Liberty Place, Inc. provides a structured and supportive environment tailored to brain injury survivors who require ongoing care and assistance. Unlike short-term rehabilitation programs, LP offers long-term residential services that focus on stability, skill-building, and community integration. Key services include:

  • Residential Support: Providing individualized care in a home-like setting, ensuring residents live in the least restrictive environment possible.

  • Life Skills Development: Helping residents enhance or maintain their independence through structured activities that reinforce daily living skills.

  • Community Engagement: Organizing social activities and outings to keep residents connected with the community.

Liberty Place, Inc. is committed to helping residents thrive despite the challenges of brain injury by working towards increased or maintained independence, dignity, and community participation.

Additional Support: The Brain Injury Alliance of Montana (BIAMT)

The Brain Injury Alliance of Montana (BIAMT) provides essential resources for brain injury survivors, families, and caregivers. Their services include support groups, advocacy efforts, and educational programs aimed at raising awareness and improving access to care across the state. BIAMT works alongside organizations like LP to ensure that Montanans affected by brain injury receive the help they need.

Brain injury awareness and long-term care solutions are crucial in Montana. Liberty Place, Inc. continues to be a trusted resource, providing essential services that allow survivors to achieve their fullest potential.
